Joe FitzPatrick and I have today welcomed the news that the Dundee Museum of Transport has been awarded a grant of £500,000 from Historic Environment Scotland to renovate the former Maryfield Tram Depot.
After sitting empty for many years, Dundee Museum of Transport invested in the B-Listed building and will now be using this funding from Historic Environment Scotland to help pay for the repairs that are necessary to turn this building into a modern museum.
I am absolutely delighted with the news that Dundee Museum of Transport has been awarded this impressive level of funding from Historic Environment Scotland. This will help Dundee Museum of Transport to continue with their improvement plans and investment within the city.
This investment is on top of the huge level of funding that has gone into the Waterfront Project and is positive signs to show that the whole City is benefitting from the regeneration programme. Dundee is a city on the up and everyone from the Waterfront to Maryfield and far beyond are benefitting from it.
