I am pleased to hear of the decision that has been announced today by Scottish Government Minister for Parliamentary Business, Joe FitzPatrick for Dundee City West, regarding the proposals from the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland.
Joe has announced that he will not to be accepting the recommendations for changes in Dundee City.
The people of Broughty Ferry were very clear that they did not support the recommendations of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland which would have seen part of the Ferry Ward being moved into the East End Ward.
I wrote to the Minister for Parliamentary Business on several occasions making him aware of this opinion, and showed my support to all constituents who made contact with me regarding this issue.
I know that this will be welcomed news by the majority of people who would have been affected if the proposal had been accepted. I am glad that their voices were heard and that they have been listened to.
