McDonald's refuses Scottish banknote
I am extremely disappointed to learn of the decision taken by the franchisee of 10 McDonald's branches to refuse Scottish banknotes as payment. This policy will now almost definitely put customer's in a position which could be highly embarrassing.
While individual businesses do have the ability to not accept certain notes, I would expect businesses on all parts of the UK to recognise Scottish banknotes as legal currency and to accept these as they would English banknotes.
It is just another case in a long list of people being refused the sale of goods in exchange for, specifically, Scottish banknotes. I would urge the owner of these branches to seriously rethink this policy.
