Addressing the SNP conference
Not only was I proud to announce on Friday at #SNP16 that the Scottish National Party (SNP) Scottish Government would be giving Childrens Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) a commitment of £30 million funding over the next 5 years, I was also delighted to hear Nicola Sturgeon announce yesterday that our primary and community health care services would be receiving nearly half a billion pound funding increase over the next 5 years. That equates to our GP surgeries and other community care services receiving 11% of the overall health budget.
This has been welcomed by GPs and will help to provide care in the community and keep people in their own homes instead of in hospital.
While Theresa May and 10 Downing Street have said they won't be increasing the English and Welsh NHS budget, we have shown that the SNP are the only truly progressive party in the UK and will always do what is best for the people of Scotland.
