SPECIAL Q&A SESSION HELD WITH STUDENTS AT MORGAN ACADEMY
Dundee City East MSP, Shona Robison, met with students from Morgan Academy to take part in a special Q&A session to discuss political issues of concern to young people.
The Q&A session was held on Friday 2nd February with S5 and S6 Modern Studies students.
A number of questions were asked on a wide range of topics, including: education, crime and justice, alcohol and smoking policy, childcare and many more.
Commenting, Shona Robison said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my Q&A session with the Modern Studies students. There was some excellent discussion of many issues that matter to young people.
“Encouraging young people to think about politics and how so many issues are relevant to them and their futures is important. We shouldn’t underestimate the value of taking the time to engage young people in politics and I was thoroughly impressed by the questions that were raised.
“I am particularly delighted that the SNP Scottish Government has lowered the voting age in local elections to 16. Young people deserve to have their voice heard.
“A big thanks to the students for their participation - and to the school for having me!”
