SHONA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY BY HOSTING LOCAL COFFEE MORNING
MSP for Dundee City East, Shona Robison, has celebrated International Women's Day 2018 by hosting a Ladies' Coffee Morning.
The event was held on Saturday 10th March at the Dundee International Women's Centre. Local women were invited to come along and enjoy cakes, teas and coffees, and take part in a discussion on a number of topics.
Shona was joined in the discussion by:
Fatimah Ramzan, Project Worker at the Dundee International Women's Centre
Gwen Gordon, former Senior A&E Charge Nurse / Scotland Malawi Partnership contributor
Julie Ford, Depute Provost of Fife Council
Cllr Anne Rendall and Cllr Lynne Short from Dundee City Council
The discussion included topics such as changes to the UK state pension age for women, sexual harassment in the workplace, encouraging more women into politics, empowering women in local communities and many more.
Commenting on the event, Shona said:
"It was great to spend the morning with so many feisty Dundee women! I had a great time talking to so many women with different experiences and stories to tell, and the conversation and debates were engaging and tackled a number of key issues."
