Over 60 people from organisations and charities across the city joined Dundee City East MSP Shona Robison on Friday as she hosted a successful funding fair. The event saw stalls from a variety of funders ranging from Creative Scotland to Volunteer Dundee.
The local MSP opened the funding fair at The Factory Skate Park, Balunie Drive. Funders were then given the opportunity to present their specific grants to the audience, which lead to an informal discussion at the funders’ stalls.
Funders included Creative Scotland, Grow Wild Scotland, Big Lottery Fund Scotland, Dundee Voluntary Scotlamd, Scotmid Co-Operative, ASDA and TESCO Bags of Help.
Ms Robison commented:
“I know that funding can be challenging for third sector organisations, therefore I wanted to help by bringing key funders to Dundee to meet organisations that may be able to benefit from their various funding opportunities.
“I was delighted and overwhelmed at the response I received to my invitation, with 7 funders attending, and over 60 people in the audience.
“Both funders and organisations commented on the fair’s success and I hope to do more events like this in the future.”
