LOCAL MSP THANKS LOCAL POSTIES SET TO DELIVER A “FIRST CLASS” CHRISTMAS
7 Dec 2018
Shona Robison MSP visited the Royal Mail Dundee East Delivery Office to see first-hand the operation of delivering Christmas post, and to pass on early Season’s Greetings to the hardworking staff.
Ms Robison was introduced to local postmen and women, who will be pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail in Dundee throughout the busy Christmas period.
Commenting, Shona Robison said:
“At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive period. There is a huge amount of effort and dedication that goes into delivering a Christmas mail throughout Dundee and across Scotland.
“It was great to meet the team here at the Dundee East Delivery Office and to be able to thank them for the extraordinary lengths they will go to ensure Christmas parcels and cards are delivered to loved ones on time.
“It is also important to acknowledge the service the Royal Mail provides throughout the year, as postal workers deliver our mail services all through the year, in all weathers. It’s easy to take for granted the vital service that the Royal Mail workers provide, and we should all acknowledge and appreciate them for their hard work.”
The Festive Season is Royal Mail’s busiest period, as millions of people shop online for gifts as well as sending traditional Christmas cards and parcels.
Royal Mail also plays a key role in e-commerce for many businesses sending goods to customers throughout Christmas shopping season.
